Return of Free Mattress & Sofa Disposal

Louth's local authority's Environment Section have set a date for a mattress and sofa amnesty. The council will cover the disposal cost in the hope to reduce illegal dumping across the county.

It has been highly successful in the past, although feedback from the public has included that for most they still find issue with actually transporting the heavy furniture items to the drop off points.

For those who have access to transport, you can avail of this service in Ardee, Drogheda and Dundalk at the dates and locations below –

• Ardee: Thursday September 12th from 9.30AM to 3.30PM at Kieran & McGee Ardee Livestock Sales Yard, Drumgoolestown, Ardee, A92 VP92

• Dundalk: Wednesday September 11th from 9.30AM to 5.30pm at the V&W Civic Amenity Centre, Newry Road, Dundalk, A91 X72W

• Drogheda: Wednesday September 11th from 9.30AM to 5.30PM at the V&W Civic Amenity
