I'm assuming that if you live in county Louth and have been about this summer, this headline makes (oddly) perfect sense.

For those not directly involved in the counter shenanigans though, here's a quick debrief of how things unfolded over five weeks of protests in Dundalk to date: The people behind the campaign, the main players, and their bizarre allegiance to sex offenders and loyalists. If you have absolutely no idea what is behind this title, then buckle up because we are about to go on a wild ride.

How Did We Get Here

Dundalk Says No formed like many anti-immigrant groups have on Facebook over the last few years. In fact, almost carbon copy – Wording, banners, pictures… Oddly each layout for each towns (apparently entirely separate) groups have the same copy and paste format. How strange. They pop up straight away after one incident (sometimes an entirely made up incident), usually a horrific act, sometimes a petty crime. These days it’s usually when new housing is announced for those living in state protection, migrants, non-Irish… a spark of fear within the local community. It’s almost like fear mongers are waiting in the wings, waiting to fill us full of propaganda for their own agendas. Before you can take a breath, reflect on how this news in any way actually really negatively affects you or your loved ones, a group POPS up stating they are just concerned… Just slightly concerned. Copy and paste. Just like the rest. You join, curious, after all… Maybe you should be afraid? I mean, this group just dislike the government, and who doesn’t… Maybe they can protect you?

Before you know it it’s six months down the line, and the group has descended into more obvious violence, jokes about black people, and even chemtrails. You were told this group wasn’t even about race. You were told this group was only against “illegal immigration” (although you begin to realise you aren’t actually sure what that term means). You start to notice that people you know from the private group are commenting on public articles - stating that all non-Irish should be murdered, that buildings should be set on fire without any concern for life, or the local community…

You start to wonder if this is a normal community group after all. And you aren’t alone. This isn’t about intelligence, it’s about manipulation. If you have ever been blind sighted by the far-right, please read that last sentence again. These groups, these political parties, are not smarter than you. You are more than likely a better, and more trusting person than they are.

You eventually realise they don’t care about you, or your community, and you step away.

The usual suspects...
ree
- Mods, commenters and the regular agitators

Unfortunately, not everyone is as lucky. Particularly when it comes to our young male teens and young men. Fascists use the most vulnerable in our society for their own gain, they train these young men to feel unwanted by society and only respected by them – They fill their heads with racist nonsense, and praise their violent acts. It’s pretty noteworthy that we never see the suits burning down buildings and rioting in our streets. The suits only incite the violence; so our children can go to prison instead on them. Our children are paying the ultimate price for us, as adults, allowing these plastic patriots to infiltrate our towns. This is a class issue, and we need to be reminded to always, ALWAYS punch up and not down. In that respect, we, average working class people, have far more in common with most immigrants than we do with the likes of Hermann Kelly.

Be Kind… Kinda Racist

The now quite famous (for many reasons) Ann Marie Gray, one of the initial forerunners of the group (and perhaps the only “concerned local”) announced on one of her many Facebook live videos that she had been notified via message by Tracy O’Hanlon of a significant donation made by Tristan Tate. The local Irish Freedom Party politician explained that Tristan, who is in trouble with his brother for various sexual crimes including trafficking, had declared over X his willingness to want to help the movement. This came after viewing one of Ann Marie’s heated speeches from the weekly anti-immigrant protests.

One might assume that Ann Marie would welcome such a donation to her cause. After all, these groups generally don’t exclude the likes of sex offenders or abusers, amongst other things. They have a strange ethos of inclusion in that respect, considering their whole spiel is based around protecting women and children.

From Ann Marie's Facebook page... Confusingly, one image even has the Ukrainian flag over it

However on August 1st, Ann Marie “jumped on quickly” (IYKYK) via Facebook live to state her absolute disgust. Maybe she had a conscious after all? Maybe she realised that inciting violence against minorities, and also local Irish people, wasn’t very "Live, Laugh, Love" of her? Perhaps she thought that maybe pushing teenagers in to a life of hatred and crime didn’t really stand with her spiritual world ethos after all? Actually, no. What the “holistic therapist” was most concerned about was of course how people would perceive her – How bad she looks, taking money from anyone – Even from someone whose views aligned with her own.

Our Saviour

This alone should show us that Ann Marie perhaps cares a little less about the community of Dundalk than she repeatedly states she does. If you are a keen watcher, you will see a theme amongst her live shows – Absolute martyrdom.

Ann Marie against the government, Ann Marie against real doctors, Ann Marie against the world. Ann Marie just wants to save YOU and will throw herself in front of everyone and everything to do that. How nice. Except no one ever asked her to do so… and what DOES she do exactly? Apart from these self-indulgent videos all about herself. As a psychic (etc. etc.) one could argue that she works with people hands-on. Kinda like a real therapist, or real doctor. And of course, most of those who do work in healing industries, alternative medicine and so on, do usually possess a passion for helping others. But we also must remember, it’s still their job. Outside of her work (I assume - I haven't asked anyone for reviews), what is Ann Marie really actually doing to help our community? It certainly isn’t these longwinded rants about the ever-present enemy.

And let’s be honest, at this stage Ann Marie doesn’t care who the enemy actually is. She just needs you to know, as the watcher, that she is fighting the enemy for YOU.

In reality, Ann Marie’s videos, her entire community work, is all about one person and one person only – Ann Marie.

But heaven forbid she receive CRYPTOMONEY and not real cash… The spiel is long, and can be viewed in full on Facebook (unless of course she takes it down, which is also a possibility with our Ann Marie). I mean if I was to give some leeway here, maybe we pause to applaud her ethics… Limited as they are. She is a woman who has her own opinions (even if misguided and very confusing), and won’t be bought. But what concerns most watchers is that she should be more flabbergasted at the idea of who IFP and their group Dundalk Says No are taking money from. Standing with well-known sex traffickers is surely gross on a million levels; why can’t Ann Marie use her air time and semi-fame to call out her peers for associating with a man like that? Surely that should have been her main bugbear? She used her platform to inform us “I have no interest in celebrity status or money” (a specific note to highlight, but I feel she wants the reader to know that if she wanted, she could in fact have those things). This is the tripe she decided to really focus on, repeating “CRYPTOMONEY” in disgust, on her recent videos and Facebook statuses, rather than point out she doesn’t really like sex traffickers… Ok…

I guess sometimes conspiracy theories are more enticing than actual, real morals.

(for the record it was about 5,000 US dollars and the party informed her they would use this for new equipment like speakers/ sound, banners and hi vis).

The Emperors New Clown Shoes

And thus began a rift in the core of what is (or was?) Dundalk Says No. Ann Marie has gone from their radar, with half of their onlookers agreeing with her - and those that agree with IFP aligning with sex traffickers proudly prodding along… so much so, that the now diminished national group have added a new banner to say thank you his family (specifically, the Irish born Tate grandfather). The fact that noting this American money man has an Irish grandfather, and therefore their own family were clearly migrants, is a laughable and obvious joke that none of them are grasping.

The weekly circus is almost laughable – If it wasn’t also dangerous. It’s hard to tell at times if they are in fact a parody; a mix of characters performing the oddest of delusional shows, declaring stranger and stranger allegiances each week…

They went from bussing in Coolock friends (including, again, well-known criminals) to an outing to their Belfast mates, where they proudly stood with dangerous loyalists. I think even if you have yet to hear of this chapter of their story, you can guess how unwell this went down with Dundalk locals. Still, they blindly ignored the obvious yet again, and during week four of protests Tracy even piped in how she would much prefer to be under British rule, than under our current government. Yikes! I’m not sure if the public at this stage are collectively disgusted, or just incredibly baffled at their audacity.

But let’s forget about Tracy, Ann Marie and even the confused American’s and loyalists for a second. We need to unfortunately include another main player, the big clown if you will, Hermann Kelly. The head of the Irish Freedom Party was easily noticed in the early days of the protests  (I believe he might only own one suit, so he is easy to spot). When locals in the counter protest pointed out Dundalk Says No was hugely operated by the party, the pushback was enormous. In those early days the sound equipment was marked by the “The Irish People” logo – Another far-right political party. Yet and all, we were all told time and time again that the group was entirely local and had nothing to do with dangerous politicians… Not even the ones in attendance, or the ones making speeches. It was quite “Emperor’s new clothes” for those who were paying attention. It was bizarrely obvious what was occurring, and by who, yet Dundalk Says No kept up the flabbergasted and disgusted act for a couple of weeks at least.

Hermann Kelly, head of IFP - The Irish Times

Poor Hermy was asked to take a break, which we have seen time and time again in other towns throughout the years – When the locals question the fascist parties involvement, they hide for a week or two, and then come back out like a 90’s boyband reunion. Except they honestly believe this little trick works, and no one will recall their previous debut. Wee little Justin Barrett of the National Party had played this act before also… It’s been a long road to the rise of fascism in Ireland, but those of us who have been taking notes, know how it played out each time.

Like clockwork, Herman Kelly was onsite again last Sunday, August 18th. And again, he was ran out of Dundalk. Practically hand-in-hand with some ranodmer wearing a bright red pro-Trump sweater, and of course our Tracy... The sight at times, is just indescribable.

The emperor was wearing clown shoes all along, and the good folk of Dundalk and County Louth could see that.

And yet, the circus continues...

In diminished numbers, but they have to get use of those sparkly new speakers paid by the sex offenders CRYPTOMONEY, afterall. Even without their grand master reiki healer, the plastic patriots have continued to make fools of themselves.
