Traffic calming measures are to remain in place outside the old SuperValu building in Ardee town centre until the roof is fully repaired. Some businesses have used Facebook to express their anger toward the initial lack of response from emergency services when the incident first occurred, but are also unhappy with the barriers in place at all.
However, elected council reps have insisted the measures are necessary to ensure safety for drivers and pedestrians alike. Currently a one-way system is still in place, with temporary traffic lights navigating the process. Further traffic calming measures, and the beginning of the repairs to the building, are set to come in to affect from Thursday, October 10th.
